XBox Live Arcade have just added my favouritest game from my teenage years - Gyruss. Many hours were spent in the arcade, not really getting very far with the game, and many 20 cents went the way of the machines.
Funnily enough, at the moment I’m getting to roughly where I used to get to all those years ago. I guess now I can learn all the patterns and progress all the way back to Earth…
For those young’uns with a games console, have a look at this article which gives a bit of history of consoles from 1979 to today, and also some of the adverts used to promote them. (Mainly from an American perspective.)
You can also see a similar article about computers, including the classic 1984 Apple advert.
Have some fun with The Boneless Girl
No humour this Thursday, just a good optical illusion.

You scored as Kaylee (Kaywinnet Lee) Frye. The Mechanic. You are a natural mechanic, and you are far too sweet and cheerful to live out here. How you can see the good in everyone around you boggles the mind occasionally. Still you don’t seem to be any crazier than that, and it is a nice kinda crazy.

An old term still being used….
A current advert that struck me, Star Wars - Revenge Of The Sith - The Video Game. How old a term is ‘Video Game’? It must date back to when games first came out. Funny how 20 years later it is still being used - albeit not very often. Usually computing terms come and go very quickly, so it’s odd how one term can stay around for ages.
Just added a new ‘toy’ to my website - a guestmap. Kind of funky, and I still need to tweak it a bit, but feel free to give it a go! Removed - too limited.
Since I got moaned at for not posting as often as some blogs…
